It is said that Atul's wife had filed a case against him in Uttar Pradesh, which deeply affected him. Struggling with depression, Atul reportedly confided in members of an NGO, the Save Indian Family Foundation, seeking help to resolve his family issues. Just before his death, he sent a death note to the NGO’s WhatsApp group, urging them to assist him in saving his family.

Atul had meticulously planned his suicide for three days. He had even documented his actions, recording how he took a bath and rehearsed the suicide. He also pasted a note on his wall, detailing his grievances. In the note, Atul criticized the justice system, specifically lower courts and family courts, and expressed dissatisfaction with the judicial process.

The tragedy has sparked concerns over the impact of family disputes on mental health. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Atul's death, while his family and the NGO have expressed shock and sorrow.
