Bengaluru: Woman alleges sexual harrasment by Rapido driver; driver suspended

A woman took to the social media site Reddit to post about an ordeal she faced after having booked a Rapido from Tin Factory to Koramangala at 8:30 PM. “We stopped at a petrol pump for refill and after I sat he remembered that his key was below the backseat. He felt my thighs twice just to fetch that key. I was horrified. I said bhaiya you could have simply asked for the key to me. Later on, after sometime..he sat over my inner thighs closely sticking his ass to my crotch. And he was pressing it from time to time so hard that it hurt. I was horrified by what was happening. I was so scared. I couldn't even ask him what he was doing. It went for around 20 mins till we reached a crowded area. I was mortified. I was praying to God to reach my destination and somehow bore that pain. I didn't have the courage to stop or slap him right away. He was doing it intentionally. I don’t know what he was even thinking,” she posted. 

She also claimed that the driver rubbed his feet over her. She stated that upon complaining to Rapido, although initially stating that they would cross verify with the rider regarding this affair, they eventually apologised to her for her experience and informed her that the rider would be suspended from their platform. She was promised a confirmation of this through an email.
