The victim, originally from West Bengal, reported that she was attacked when she stepped out of her apartment to collect a parcel. As she stood at the gate, the accused, Manjunath Gowda, began verbally abusing her. She ignored his remarks, but when Gowda appeared intoxicated, the situation escalated. He slapped her, choked her to the point of suffocation, and pinned her against a wall.

As she tried to escape, Gowda bit her finger and dragged her toward his apartment. When she screamed for help and ran back to her flat, he chased her, continuing to assault her on the staircase. The victim was eventually able to flee after others intervened.

The following morning, the woman reported that Gowda was seen peeping through her window. When confronted, he threatened to enter her home and became aggressive. The woman claimed this was not the first time Gowda had made inappropriate advances or argued with her.

An FIR was filed against Gowda, who was arrested by the police. His father, however, denied the allegations, claiming the victim’s character was questionable.
