Bengaluru: Woman conned several people by promising loans at subsidised rates; claimed to have contact with Nirmala Sitharaman

A woman named Pavitra hailing from the Hosur region of Tamil Nadu promised people of providing loans at subsidised rates in Anekal which falls in the outskirts of Bengaluru. She claimed to have contact with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). 

Pavitra ran a trust by the name of Blus Wings and conned people by having them believe that the trust received Rs 17 crore from the RBI. She showcased a fake copy signed by Nirmala Sitharaman to gain people’s trust. She told people that in a loan of Rs 10 lakh, Rs 5 lakh would be subsidised. She further led people to believe that in order to procure the loan, they would have to deposit money. She showed videos of huge stacks of cash to deceive people. People fell for this and entrusted her with lakhs of rupees. They accumulate other debts in order to arrange for the money. Upon not having received the money even after sustained efforts for many months, Pavitr’s scam was unveiled. 

This scam is said to have taken place across many areas such as Chandapura, Attibele, Hosur and Dharmapuri. A complaint under sections pertaining to financial fraud has been filed in the Surya Nagar Attibele Police Station.
