The woman, identified as Triparna, a resident of flat 404 at AKME Ballet Apartments, is accused of subjecting the dog to severe abuse before it died. Neighbours reported a foul smell emanating from the flat, prompting a complaint to BBMP officials. Upon arrival, officials from the BBMP Animal Husbandry Department, accompanied by animal rights activists, were horrified to find the dead dog’s body inside the home. Two other dogs were also found in extremely poor condition, reportedly starving and distressed.

Authorities suspect the woman may have had ulterior motives and misused the animals, with some even raising concerns about possible black magic practices. An FIR has been registered against her at the Mahadevapura police station, but no arrest has been made yet.

The incident occurred two days ago and a post-mortem report has already been submitted. Activists questioned the police’s inaction and urged them to treat animal cruelty cases with the seriousness they deserve.

Investigation into the case is currently underway, while public outrage continues to grow.
