Karnataka is set to mark the 11th International Yoga Day (IYD) on June 21 with large-scale events planned across the state, including prominent gatherings in Bengaluru and Mysuru.
The highlight will be a major event at the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, expected to bring together around 3,000 participants. The session, scheduled from 6 AM to 8 AM, will follow the standardized yoga protocol laid out by the Ministry of AYUSH and will be led by key government and community figures.

The programme, titled “Yoga Sangam,” is being organized in collaboration with various yoga federations, civic groups, and state departments. Notable leaders including the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and senior ministers are slated to attend alongside eminent yoga practitioners from across Karnataka.
Simultaneously, yoga sessions will be held at all district and taluk headquarters, with a massive turnout expected at the Mysore Palace grounds for the “Yoga Mahakumbh,” which aims to host 15,000 participants. Rural engagement is also a focus, with 300 Ayushman Health and Wellness Centres facilitating yoga events.
The state has launched a 100-day countdown campaign featuring national-level yoga contests, led by the AYUSH Department and the Government Ayurveda Research Centre in Mysuru.
Karnataka has also urged the central government to recognize Mysuru as a dedicated ‘Yoga District,’ envisioning yoga outreach to every household. Contributing significantly to the national initiative, Karnataka plans to host 10,000 of the 100,000 Yoga Sangam events across India.
