Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is set to launch an integrated mobility service that will allow commuters to plan and book their entire journey—from first-mile to last-mile—through a single platform. Partnering with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and multiple mobility providers, BMRCL aims to provide seamless, door-to-door travel options starting next month.

The new initiative will allow commuters to book Metro tickets alongside auto and cab rides through popular apps such as Rapido, Tummoc, Google Maps, Namma Yatri, and Redbus. Pilot testing has already begun, with Rapido reportedly offering Metro ticket bookings and a promotional 20% discount on the first purchase.

This move is part of BMRCL's broader strategy to enhance commuter convenience and digital integration. Currently, around half of Metro users rely on smart cards, while others opt for QR codes or physical tokens. Ticketing and recharge services are presently supported by platforms like Paytm and Amazon Pay.

With the upcoming integration, users will no longer need to switch between multiple apps or payment systems. Instead, a unified booking experience will enable commuters to plan and pay for their entire route—covering the initial pick-up, the Metro ride, and the concluding leg of the trip—using a single ticket within a single app.

The official rollout of this initiative is expected in July 2025, promising a major upgrade in how Bengaluru residents experience public transport.
