A 10th standard student from Dasanapura allegedly ended her life, with incomplete homework and fear of reprimand suspected as possible triggers.
A 15-year-old SSLC student’s death in Dasanapura has sparked concern over homework-related stress among schoolchildren. The girl, identified as Kusuma, daughter of Ramu and Shobha, allegedly died by suicide at her home when family members were away.

Preliminary reports suggest that Kusuma, a student of Srushti High School, had a large portion of homework pending. She reportedly feared punishment from her teachers if she went to class, while also worrying that her parents might scold her if she skipped school. The conflicting stress is suspected to have pushed her into mental distress.
On Sunday, when alone at home, Kusuma allegedly took the extreme step.

The school administration has denied allegations of excessive homework pressure. “All students are given equal assignments. There could be other reasons. The truth will be revealed after police investigation,” clarified Headmaster Ashok.
Madanayakanahalli police have registered a case. The body was sent to Nelamangala Government Hospital for postmortem and later handed over to the family.
