The victim, identified as Siddamadu, a senior citizen and flower vendor, was on his way from Agrahara Dasarahalli to City Market at around 3.20 am to purchase flowers for his daily business. He usually sells flowers using a hand-pulled cart.

As Siddamadu walked alone, two unidentified men riding a motorcycle followed him. They suddenly intercepted him, brandished a knife, and held it against his neck. Threatening him with severe harm, the attackers forcibly snatched ₹10,000 in cash before fleeing the scene.
