A new in-house platform will bring BBMP and parastatal agencies like BMRCL, BESCOM, BWSSB, BDA and others under one dashboard to monitor and repair potholes across the city.
In a significant step towards tackling the city’s pothole menace, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has developed an in-house software that integrates multiple civic and parastatal agencies on a single platform to monitor and repair potholes.

The move comes after a Bengaluru Traffic Police survey revealed over 3,000 potholes across the city, posing a serious threat to motorists’ safety and traffic movement. The platform brings together agencies such as BMRCL, NHAI, BWSSB, BESCOM, KPTCL, BDA, PWD, and KRDCL under one dashboard for better coordination.
BBMP Chief Engineer (Road Infrastructure), Raghavendra Prasad, who spearheaded the initiative, said the system allows agencies to upload photos and location details of road repairs. “The BBMP central office can verify claims instantly with just a single click,” he explained.

As of August 24, 1,112 potholes, about 29% of the total 3,870 identified, have been fixed, while work on the remaining is underway. Engineers have been directed to ensure that road restorations follow Indian Road Congress standards.
The software also features a live tracking system: repaired potholes are displayed in green, while pending ones are marked in yellow. BBMP officials believe the initiative will not only speed up coordination but also ensure accountability from agencies that dig up roads for civic works.
