Bengaluru’s digital property records project recognised for transparency, efficiency, and citizen-centric service at the 28th National eGovernance Awards.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) e-Khata initiative has been awarded the prestigious National eGovernance Award 2025 at the 28th National eGovernance Awards held in Visakhapatnam on Monday, September 22, 2025.
The e-Khata project, recognised for its transformative impact on digitising property records, enhancing transparency, and improving citizen service delivery, was conceptualised under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru in-charge Minister D K Shivakumar.

The award was presented by Jitendra Singh, Minister of State, PMO, to key officials including Tushar Giri Nath (Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development Department), Munish Moudgil (Special Commissioner, GBA), Lakshmidevi (Joint Commissioner, Revenue), Suresh Babu (Senior Technical Director, NIC), and the e-Khata team of GBA.
The initiative has streamlined property record management, reduced manual errors, and made it easier for citizens to access and verify property-related documents online. It stands as a benchmark for eGovernance initiatives across India.
