Terminal 01 at Kempegowda International Airport witnesses massive passenger distress as multiple Indigo flights remain grounded due to pilot and crew shortages.
Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport saw a scene of severe passenger distress at Terminal 01, as thousands of travellers were stranded following multiple Indigo flight cancellations. Passengers, tired from waiting for hours, were forced to sleep in corners, staircases, restrooms, escalators, and even lifts, as every available space in the terminal was occupied.

Many had purchased tickets costing several thousand rupees, only to face uncertainty as flights were indefinitely delayed or cancelled. With few chairs available, passengers struggled to find seats, while some were unable to access restrooms or purchase food and water due to long queues and congestion.
A particularly distressing case involved a woman and her family, who were scheduled to fly from Bengaluru to Delhi and onward to Haridwar for a religious ceremony. With their Indigo flight cancelled due to a lack of pilots and crew, they were left stranded at the airport. Staff informed passengers that refunds could be processed, but rescheduling would only be possible three days later.
The cancellations affected not just individual travellers but also families with pre-planned trips and religious commitments. Dozens of Indigo planes remained grounded on the runway, waiting for crew availability. Thousands of passengers were forced to wait inside the airport, unable to board their scheduled flights.
