The 2026 World’s Best Cities Report places Bengaluru among the planet’s top-ranked urban destinations, spotlighting its green spaces, food culture, attractions and rising global appeal.
Bengaluru has earned a significant global recognition, entering the World’s Top 30 Best Cities for 2026 in the annual World’s Best Cities Report by Resonance Consultancy. Assessed against more than 270 major cities worldwide, the list evaluates economic strength, tourism appeal, public sentiment, culture, mobility and long-term liveability. Bengaluru leads India’s presence in the rankings and is placed at Rank 29.
The city’s position reflects a wider international acknowledgement of its diverse identity, an urban space where deep-tech laboratories operate next to sprawling parks, wildlife zones and heritage sites. The report underlines Bengaluru’s standout status in family travel, assigning it the global No. 1 ranking for Family-Friendly Attractions. The presence of Bannerghatta’s wildlife experiences and Wonderla’s amusement offerings played a major role in this top placement.

Bengaluru’s food culture continues to draw global attention, earning the city the No. 3 ranking worldwide for Restaurants. From iconic coastal dishes at Karavalli to experimental spaces across Indiranagar, the city’s culinary landscape is recognised as one of the most compelling among global metros.
Retail prominence also features strongly with a No. 6 global ranking for Shopping, backed by the mix of luxury outlets in UB City and destination malls like the expansive Phoenix Mall of Asia.
Heritage structures such as Vidhana Soudha and Bangalore Palace have strengthened the city’s visual identity, giving Bengaluru the top global position for Sights & Landmarks.

The report notes infrastructure improvements as well, highlighting the operational Yellow Line of Namma Metro as an upgrade that has enhanced daily mobility and contributed to the city’s Lovability index ranking of No. 19.
Overall, the 2026 recognition places Bengaluru on the world map not just as India’s tech powerhouse but as a city offering rich experiences for families, travellers, food lovers and urban explorers.
