BBMP holds coordination meet ahead of Gowri-Ganesha festival to streamline permissions and safety measures
BBMP announces 75 single-window centers across Bengaluru for smooth Gowri-Ganeshotsav celebrations; public, police, and BESCOM coordination emphasized.
In preparation for this year’s Gowri-Ganesha festival, the BBMP has introduced a streamlined single-window permission system to manage festivities efficiently across the city. As in previous years, all approvals will be granted under this unified process through 75 sub-division offices.

To ensure effective implementation, the civic body has formed committees at each center comprising BBMP, Police, BESCOM, and Fire Department officials. Each of these centers will be overseen by a designated nodal officer.
In a recent preparatory meeting with the police and the public, citizens put forward several key suggestions: complete ban on DJs during the festival, advance notice on immersion routes and regulations, BESCOM’s role in preventing electric mishaps, and improved traffic management during immersion processions.

Residents also demanded stronger police presence in sensitive areas, restrictions on loudspeakers and firecrackers, prevention of idol dumping near lakes, and installation of CCTV cameras in crowded spots. Suggestions included prohibiting alcohol consumption near immersion routes and deploying additional mobile water tankers in all wards.
BBMP assured citizens that all suggestions would be taken into account to ensure a safe, eco-friendly, and peaceful Gowri-Ganesha festival.
