Bengaluru power cut on Feb 14: 7-hour outage likely in Mysuru Road and surrounding areas

Electricity supply will be disrupted from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday in several parts of west Bengaluru due to scheduled quarterly maintenance work at the 66/11 kV REMCO MUSS substation.

Residents in several parts of Bengaluru should prepare for a seven-hour power outage on Friday, February 14, as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has announced a scheduled shutdown for essential maintenance work.

According to an official notification, the power interruption will take place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. in areas supplied by the 66/11 kV REMCO MUSS substation. The outage is part of quarterly maintenance activities, including servicing of 11 kV switchgears and the 11 kV bus system, aimed at improving network reliability and ensuring safe electricity distribution.

BESCOM has stated that the maintenance work is necessary to prevent technical faults and ensure uninterrupted power supply in the future. During this period, electricity will remain unavailable in multiple residential and commercial localities.

The areas likely to be affected include:

Mysuru Road 7th Cross, Shamanna Garden, Manjunatha Nagar, Pipeline Road, Santosh Tent area, Anantha Ramaiah Compound, New Guddadahalli, Kuvempu Nagar, 4th and 6th Cross, areas along Mysuru Road, Old Guddadahalli, and nearby localities.

Residents, business owners, and institutions in these areas have been advised to plan their activities in advance, especially those dependent on continuous power supply. BESCOM has also requested public cooperation during the maintenance period and assured that power will be restored immediately after the completion of work.
