Bengaluru power outage today: BESCOM announces shutdown across dozens of localities

Emergency maintenance on the 66 kV line at the Banaswadi substation will disrupt power supply in large parts of East and North Bengaluru from morning to afternoon.

Residents across several parts of Bengaluru will face a scheduled power outage today due to urgent maintenance work announced by BESCOM. The electricity disruption is linked to emergency repair work on the 66 kV line connected to the 66/11 kV Banaswadi substation.

According to BESCOM, the power shutdown will be in effect from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Officials said the maintenance work is essential to ensure the safety and reliability of the power network in the area.

The outage will impact a wide stretch of residential and commercial localities. Areas expected to be affected include HRBR Layout (1st, 2nd and 3rd Blocks), Service Road, Kammanahalli Main Road, CMR Road, Babusa Palya, Balachandra Layout, Flower Garden, MM Garden, Arakavathi Layout, Anjanadri Layout Enclave, Divya Unnathi Layout, Vijayendra Garden, Mallappa Layout, Prakruthi Township, Balaji Layout, GNR Garden, Samudrika Enclave, Subbayyanapalya, Horamavu, Munireddy Layout, Vijaya Bank Colony, Nisarga Colony, Nandanam Colony, Amar Agencies Layout, P&T Layout, Coconut Grove Layout, Ashirvad Colony, Shakti Nagar, Hennur Village, Bairaveshwara Layout, Chikkanna Layout, CMR Layout, Hennur Cross, Kenchappa Garden, Brindavan Layout, Hoysala Nagar, Brindavan Avenue Heritage, Vinayaka Layout, Jayanthi Grama, areas near the BDA Complex, near Narendra Tent, OMBR Layout, Kasturi Nagar, Pillareddy Nagar, Karavalli Road, Ramaiah Layout, Ajmallappa Layout, Doddabanaswadi, Ramamurthy Nagar Main Road, B. BESCOM has advised residents to plan their activities accordingly during the outage period. Power supply is expected to be restored after the completion of maintenance work.
