A 32-year-old Bengaluru bank employee allegedly died by suicide at his Girinagar residence following repeated marital disputes. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
A 32-year-old private bank employee, identified as Yadukumar, was found dead at his residence in Girinagar on Sunday afternoon. Police said the incident came to light late in the evening after neighbours and friends broke open the door when he did not respond to calls.
According to police, the victim was found lying on the floor with a ceiling fan rope nearby. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The Girinagar Police have registered an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) and begun an inquiry based on a complaint filed by Yadukumar’s family members.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Yadukumar had married Meghana, a native of Chamarajanagar, 11 months ago. The couple had been living in Hosakerehalli but were reportedly facing frequent quarrels over allegations of infidelity. Meghana had previously filed a complaint against her husband at the Chamarajanagar Women’s Police Station, accusing him of having relations with other women. The police had conducted two counselling sessions and advised the couple to reconcile.
Sources said the couple had recently started living together again but continued to fight. On the day of the incident, Yadukumar was reportedly alone at home when he took the extreme step. His friends discovered the body after finding the door locked from inside.
Family members alleged that Meghana’s harassment and repeated accusations drove him to suicide. They have filed a formal complaint naming her responsible for his death. Police confirmed that IPS officers have taken charge of the probe, and a detailed investigation is underway.

In her defense, Meghana denied the allegations, claiming she was forced into the marriage and had earlier discovered her husband’s alleged affairs just two days after their wedding. She alleged that Yadukumar continued to maintain contact with other women despite her repeated requests to end those relationships. Meghana also claimed that she had tried to reconcile with him and that the incident was unexpected.
The case has taken a complex turn as both families have made serious allegations against each other. Authorities are awaiting forensic and postmortem reports before determining further action.
