Two college students acted swiftly and responsibly after spotting a frightened child near ITI Circle, ensuring her safe return home through prompt coordination with KR Puram Police.
A thoughtful and quick action by two PUC students helped reunite a nine-year-old girl with her family after she lost her way near ITI Circle in KR Puram on Thursday evening. The incident unfolded around 5.30 pm when the students, Shaiesta KN and Srimitha, had just stepped off a bus near the junction.
The girl, later identified as Tejaswini, was seen standing alone and visibly frightened at the busy circle. When approached, she asked the students for directions to Kammagondanahalli, revealing that she was confused and scared. The students realised she had lost her way while walking alone from her relative’s house and needed immediate help.

They first took her to a nearby bakery, offering a cream bun and chocolate to help calm her down. Tejaswini initially refused, explaining that she had been instructed not to accept sweets from strangers. After reassuring her, the students comforted her and decided to take her directly to the KR Puram Police Station due to the growing crowd and the late hour.
At the station, efforts began to trace her family. Since the child did not remember any contact numbers, the police reached out to her school, which helped identify her residence. Her mother later arrived at the station, confirming that the family lived in Kalkere under the Ramamurthy Nagar limits.
KR Puram Police stated that the child had left her grandmother’s house and lost her way near ITI Circle. Once her identity was confirmed, she was safely handed over to her mother.
