Bengaluru emerged as one of the most enthusiastic cities in celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi this year, with a remarkable rise in orders for festive essentials through quick commerce platform Zepto. The city stood out for its strong blend of devotion, cultural practices, and convenience-driven shopping habits.
Data from Zepto highlighted that Bengaluru recorded sharp growth in demand for traditional items. Purchases of decorative lights increased more than fourteenfold compared to last year, while chunri orders rose 13.6 times and betel nuts nearly seven times. Food continued to play a central role in the celebrations, with sweets driving the highest volumes.

Laddus recorded peak sales
During the festival day, laddus recorded peak sales between 10 am and 11 am, where Bengaluru’s consumption was more than three times higher than Mumbai. Pedas followed shortly after, with the city once again leading demand by over double. Although Mumbai eventually took the lead in modak sales, Bengaluru dominated early purchases and maintained strong momentum.
The city also ranked first in Ganesh idol orders, ahead of both Hyderabad and Mumbai. Interestingly, Bengaluru initially led in modak mould purchases before Mumbai overtook toward the end of the festive period.
With curated assortments, eco-friendly idol options, and rapid delivery, Zepto played a crucial role in streamlining festive preparations for households. The trends indicate Bengaluru’s growing appetite for combining tradition with modern retail convenience, reaffirming its position as a frontrunner in festive indulgence.
