Bengaluru strengthens its position as a Global Tech and Innovation Hub

Bengaluru is rapidly solidifying its reputation as a top investment destination for global technology and innovation companies. The city’s robust infrastructure, skilled talent pool, and strategic location continue to attract major investments across IT, semiconductor, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors.

Expansion of Global Capability Centres (GCC) in Bengaluru

Recently, Availity, America’s largest real-time health information network, announced the expansion of its India Global Capability Centre (GCC) with a new 54,000 sq ft facility in Bengaluru. Availity plans to increase its Indian workforce from 90 employees in 2023 to nearly 800 by 2026, positioning India as a co-headquarter.

Microchip Technology India Pvt Ltd also boosted Bengaluru’s tech ecosystem by acquiring 1.72 lakh sq ft of office space in Whitefield’s EPIP Zone for ₹176 crore.

Whitefield witnessed major lease renewals as well, with ExxonMobil Services and Technology renewing a 5.31 lakh sq ft lease at Prestige Shantiniketan for ₹2.60 crore monthly. Google IT Services India extended its lease for 8.7 lakh sq ft in Bagmane Capital Business Park, Doddanekkundi, with an annual rent commitment of ₹90 crore.

In manufacturing, Foxconn has started producing the iPhone 17 at its ₹25,000 crore facility near Devanahalli, now its second-largest globally after China. This facility is expected to create thousands of jobs and transform Devanahalli into a major high-tech hub.

These developments showcase Bengaluru’s evolution into a comprehensive global centre for technology, innovation, and manufacturing, poised to lead India’s digital and industrial future.
