Bengaluru University celebrated its 60th convocation with 218 rank holders receiving gold medals and awards from Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot.
Bengaluru University marked a proud milestone with its 60th annual convocation ceremony, celebrating the academic excellence of its brightest achievers. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, who presided over the event, awarded gold medals and certificates to 218 students who secured top ranks in various disciplines.

Among the distinguished achievers was Dhanya Reddy, working at NewsFirst Prime, who bagged the first rank in BA (English) and was awarded the Mary Kodanda Rao Award by the Governor.
In addition to the student honours, the Governor also conferred honorary doctorates upon three eminent personalities, including Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader. The event highlighted the university’s long-standing tradition of honouring both academic and societal contributions.
Higher Education Minister M.C. Sudhakar, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jayakar S.M., chief guest Dr. Prahlad Ramarao, and Syndicate members graced the ceremony, celebrating the achievements of the university’s top-performing students.
