Bengaluru University to confer Honorary Doctorates on U T Khader, D. Madegowda, and Dr. T.B. Prasanna

The 60th Annual Convocation of Bengaluru University is set to be a momentous occasion as it honours three distinguished individuals for their exceptional contributions to society. Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker, U T Khader, will be awarded an honorary doctorate in recognition of his extensive public service and efforts to uplift the state. Joining him in receiving honorary doctorates are social worker and former MLC, D. Madegowda, and Dr. T.B. Prasanna, the founder and managing director of J.P. Agri Genetics Pvt. Ltd.

Convocation ceremony on October 8 at 11:30 a.m

The convocation ceremony will be held on October 8 at 11:30 a.m. at the Central College campus, Palace Road, Bengaluru. University officials highlighted that this event celebrates six decades of the institution's academic excellence and its social engagement initiatives.

Khader, with over two decades of service as a legislator, is celebrated for his welfare-driven approach to politics and his contributions to strengthening civic administration in coastal Karnataka. Madegowda's decades-long dedication to social work and rural development has made a lasting impact, while Dr. Prasanna’s pioneering advancements in agricultural genetics have earned him national acclaim.

The honorary degrees bestowed reflect Bengaluru University’s enduring commitment to recognising individuals who have significantly shaped governance, social welfare, and scientific innovation.
