In a milestone for Bengaluru’s water management sector, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has become the first Indian water utility to join the Smart Water Networks Forum (SWAN). This prestigious membership was announced at IFAT India 2025, where experts and officials gathered to discuss the city's future roadmap for integrated water management and digital transformation of utilities.

As a member of SWAN, BWSSB gains access to the latest global research, best practices, and innovative smart water technologies. This partnership aligns with the utility's ambitious vision, "Utility of the Future 2026," which aims to modernize water management systems and improve service delivery.
Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar, Chairman of BWSSB, emphasized the significance of the membership, stating that it marks a new era for Bengaluru's water management. He highlighted that the collaboration would foster global partnerships and enable the city to adopt world-class service standards. BWSSB is committed to advancing India’s transition to smarter, more resilient water systems.
