After decades of planning, the 2.9 km cable car project aims to transform tourism at Nandi Hills, offering panoramic views and modern facilities.
The ambitious Nandi Hills cable car project in Bengaluru is finally taking shape, with completion projected by mid-2027. The land acquisition for the upper terminal, covering 3.5 acres of private property, is expected to conclude by November, clearing a major hurdle.

The 2.9-kilometre ropeway, a public-private partnership with Dynamicx Ropeway Private Limited, will feature 50 semi-closed cabins, ferrying visitors between lower and upper terminals while offering panoramic views of the hills.
The lower terminal will include parking for 200+ cars, 110 two-wheelers, and multiple buses, alongside a waiting area for up to 600 people. Civil work is expected to commence by the end of this year or early 2025, with a 1.5-year construction timeline.

The final regulatory challenge involves forest clearance, as one supporting pillar falls within forest land. Once this is resolved, the ropeway will provide a modern, scenic experience at one of Karnataka’s most popular tourist destinations.
