Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited floats a one-year tender for parking operations across key metro stations, with strict technical, financial and safety requirements for bidders.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has issued a fresh tender inviting applications from professional parking operators to manage parking facilities at nine metro stations across Bengaluru for a period of one year.
The tender covers parking lots at Mysuru Road, Madawara, Peenya Industry, JP Nagar, Baiyappanahalli (Outer Ring Road side), Ragi Gudda, BTM Layout, Electronic City-01 and Jayadeva Hospital stations. The combined parking area across these locations is around 20,245 square metres, with capacity for approximately 3,248 two-wheelers, 412 cars and 10 light commercial vehicles.
According to the tender document, the minimum reserved annual licence fee varies based on station size and demand. While smaller stations such as Ragi Gudda and BTM Layout have a base fee of ₹7 lakh per year, the Mysuru Road station commands the highest reserve price at ₹1.06 crore annually.

BMRCL has set strict eligibility norms for bidders. Applicants must have at least one year of experience in managing parking facilities for government organisations through tender-based contracts. In addition, bidders must show a net worth equal to 1.25 times the minimum reserve price of the parking lot they intend to operate.
The selected contractor will be responsible for installing computerised ticketing systems, CCTV cameras, adequate lighting and fire safety equipment to ensure secure and efficient operations. Parking charges will remain fixed as per BMRCL-approved rates , ₹15 for the first four hours for two-wheelers and ₹30 for cars. Bicycle parking will be offered free of cost.
The tender also mandates that each station must have space for at least 10 bicycles, located near the entry for better safety and visibility. The contractor will be accountable for any loss or theft of bicycles and must clearly advertise free cycle parking outside the lot. If demand rises, arrangements must be expanded accordingly.
Successful bidders must submit a performance security equal to six months’ licence fee and begin operations within 15 days of receiving the acceptance letter. The licence term can be extended by up to three months beyond the initial one-year period through mutual agreement.
