A total of 73 locations, including 45 Namma Clinics and 28 Urban Primary Health Centres, are conducting health screenings for pourakarmikas, auto tipper drivers and loaders across Central Bengaluru.
Bengaluru Central City Corporation has rolled out a dedicated health check-up initiative for sanitation workers, auto tipper drivers and loaders working across the central zones of the city. The programme aims to ensure that the frontline workforce, responsible for maintaining daily cleanliness and public hygiene, is provided essential medical support.
The health screenings began this morning and are being carried out simultaneously across 73 locations, including 45 Namma Clinics and 28 Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs). Officials noted that the extensive network was chosen to make the service easily accessible for all sanitation personnel, regardless of their duty location.

According to the civic administration, protecting the health of workers who keep the city clean is a priority. The initiative covers routine medical examinations to help detect health issues early and ensure timely treatment. The corporation also highlighted that sanitation workers often face high-risk conditions due to continuous exposure to waste and outdoor pollution, making such periodic health checks crucial.
