Officials said the initiative will not only strengthen Bengaluru’s core infrastructure but also enhance traffic flow, pedestrian safety, and drainage systems in one of the city’s most congested commercial zones. The project is part of a larger effort to modernize urban roads under the B-SMILE framework, ensuring long-lasting durability through white topping, a concrete-based surface that offers higher resistance to wear and water damage compared to traditional asphalt.

Speaking at the launch, CM Siddaramaiah emphasized that such upgrades were crucial to making Bengaluru’s infrastructure more resilient. Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao added that the project would address long-standing civic complaints and bring visible change to Gandhinagar’s road network.
