The association expressed disappointment, stating it was completely sidelined and not consulted during the planning of the official programme. CPWA President S Umesh highlighted that the association, which has been safeguarding the park for over 15 years, was neither informed nor involved in the campaign.
The CPWA emphasized its role in protecting the park and argued that any initiative concerning its future must involve their experience and inputs. Umesh added that converting the walk into an official event without engaging the custodians of Cubbon Park is unlikely to produce sustainable solutions.
