Ganesh Chaturthi, celebrated for ten days, is marked by devotion, decoration, and community gatherings. Devotees believe Lord Ganesha, fond of sweets, flowers, and symbolic offerings, blesses them with prosperity and removes difficulties. While modakas, fruits, and flowers are a common part of rituals, priests are urging worshippers to be mindful of one key tradition.
Ganesha garland tradition
Tradition prescribes using garlands with three petals, symbolizing Shiva, Shakti, and Ganapati. If unavailable, a five-petal garland representing Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Shakti, and Ganapati is recommended.
Priests explain that following this practice ensures adherence to sacred customs while invoking Ganesha’s blessings. As celebrations continue, devotees are reminded that devotion combined with correct rituals brings true fulfillment during this auspicious festival.
