Citizens can now schedule home pickups for unwanted furniture, appliances, and other items via app, as the Greater Bengaluru Authority tackles roadside dumping.
The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) will launch a US-style door-to-door bulk waste collection program to curb the mounting problem of illegal roadside dumping in the city.

Under this new initiative, a dedicated Solid Waste Management Unit will collect unwanted household items such as broken chairs, old TVs, mattresses, tables, sofas, and other unusable materials directly from homes. Residents simply upload details of their items via a mobile app, and GBA civic workers arrive at the doorstep to collect them.
The program targets blockage caused by dumped items on public roads, aiming to maintain cleaner, safer streets across all Bengaluru wards. Authorities have prepared extra tractors and manpower to ensure smooth operations. Residents who continue to dump items illegally may face fines.
