Accused Mahendra Reddy cites property disputes, alleged extramarital relations, and health concerns as reasons behind the premeditated killing of Dr. Kruthika Reddy.
In the shocking Marathahalli doctor Kruthika Reddy murder case, accused Mahendra Reddy has disclosed explosive details before police authorities during investigation. Mahendra stated that he had three main reasons for targeting Dr. Kruthika: property disputes, alleged extramarital relations, and her health issues.

He admitted to preplanning the murder, citing that if divorce had been granted, he would have lost property rights and feared loss of social respect. Mahendra also claimed that caring for Dr. Kruthika while she managed patients at the hospital was a burden, particularly since her family had concealed her gastric health issues and treatments.
Mahendra earned 70,000 to 80,000 INR per month from his work and admitted to extramarital relations, though he claimed the murder was not intended for this reason. He said that had he known the police would conduct a deep, technical investigation, he would not have gone through with the murder. He admitted that anesthesia could have been used but avoided it due to fear of detection.
