Tragic death of Class 7 student in S K Achukattu shocks city; child apologises in emotional note, prompting deep questions on mental health awareness among youth.

A 13-year-old boy studying in Class 7 died by suicide in Bengaluru's S K Achukattu area, leaving behind a deeply emotional note. The boy, identified as Gandhar, was found hanging in his room on Monday morning.

His father, Ganesh Prasad, a music artist, discovered the body when he went to wake the child. A death note was found at the scene in which the boy reportedly asked for forgiveness from his family, expressing sorrow for the pain he may have caused them. The note read, “Forgive me for the mistakes I’ve made. Please don’t cry. I’m already in heaven and happy. I want our home to remain peaceful.”

The boy also addressed his friends, asking them to know that he was happy, and signed off with a final “Goodbye, Amma.” His mother, Savitha, a well-known folk singer, was reportedly in Australia for a performance at the time of the incident.

The local S K Achukattu police station has registered a case and is investigating the circumstances surrounding the child’s death. His body has been shifted to KIMS Hospital. Out of respect for the mother, who is returning from overseas, authorities have decided to delay the post-mortem examination.
