Karnataka government announces free BMTC bus travel for second PUC students during examination days, easing commute stress and ensuring safe access to exam centres.
In a welcome move aimed at supporting students during their crucial examination period, the Karnataka government has announced free BMTC bus travel for second PUC students. The facility will be available from February 28 to March 18, covering the entire examination schedule.
As per the government order, students appearing for the second PUC examinations can travel free of cost on BMTC buses to reach their respective exam centres. The initiative is intended to reduce travel-related stress, ensure punctuality, and make commuting safer and more affordable for students.

To avail of the benefit, students must compulsorily show their hall tickets to the bus conductors during travel. The free travel facility is strictly limited to journeys between the student’s residence and the examination centre, ensuring that the scheme is used only for exam-related purposes.
The order clearly mentions that only second PUC examination candidates are eligible for this benefit and that misuse of the facility will not be permitted. Conductors have been instructed to verify hall tickets carefully before allowing free travel.
