Soon after landing in Bengaluru, the envoy shared a photograph on X of himself enjoying a traditional masala dosa alongside Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya. In his post, Gor highlighted the city’s unique mix of startups and street food, thanking Surya for hosting him and capturing the lively essence of the Karnataka capital.

Tejasvi Surya described the meeting as engaging and meaningful. He said the two met over masala dosa and strong filter coffee at Filter Coffee, where they discussed the strengthening partnership between India and the United States. According to Surya, their conversation centred on trade, technology, and innovation, especially in the context of the interim trade agreement being shaped between the two nations.

As part of the visit, Surya also introduced the Ambassador to Bengaluru’s iconic auto-rickshaw, popularly known as Namma Auto, which he said made for a memorable city experience.

In another post, Surya highlighted Bengaluru’s distinctive identity, describing it as a city that effortlessly blends tradition and technology, symbolised by the journey “from masala dosa to machine learning.” He underlined the city’s strategic role in deepening economic, technological, and people-to-people ties between the world’s two largest democracies.

Surya noted that Bengaluru hosts over 700 American companies and contributes nearly 43 per cent of India’s total software exports.
