Greater Bengaluru Authority says most e-Khata requests are resolved within two days, urges citizens to avoid middlemen and use official online platforms only.
The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has successfully disposed of more than 99.2% of all e-Khata applications received so far, according to a statement issued by Special Commissioner Munish Moudgil. Officials said this marks a major milestone in Bengaluru’s shift towards fully digital property services.
As of now, the GBA has received over nine lakh e-Khata applications from property owners across the city. Authorities confirmed that the majority of these applications are being processed and closed within an average of two days from the date of submission, reflecting improved efficiency and system stability.
The GBA has clearly stated that citizens do not need to visit GBA offices, city corporation offices, or GBA counters for any Khata-related service. The entire application, verification, and approval process is conducted online.

Moudgil cautioned homebuyers and property owners against paying bribes or relying on agents and middlemen who promise to “fast-track” approvals. He emphasised that such claims are false, as the system is fully automated. Applicants are advised to submit their requests only through the official portal:

To support applicants, the authority has also launched a dedicated helpline (94806 83695) to answer queries related to e-Khata services. In addition, citizens can track their application status in real time using the official tracking link:

The e-Khata system, introduced by GBA and other local bodies in October 2024, is the digital version of the traditional Khata certificate. It allows property owners to apply, download, and verify Khata documents online, eliminating the need for physical visits to municipal offices and reducing scope for delays and corruption.
