From November 13 to 16, the GKVK campus in Bengaluru will host the much-awaited Krishi Mela, showcasing new crop varieties, advanced farm machinery, and premium livestock.
Bengaluru’s Gandhi Krishi Vigyan Kendra (GKVK) is gearing up to host the grand Krishi Mela 2025 from November 13 to 16, a four-day agricultural festival set to draw farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, and the general public from across Karnataka.
This year’s event carries the theme “Prosperous Agriculture, Developed India- Soil, Water, Crop”, focusing on sustainable and scientific farming practices that strengthen India’s agricultural backbone.

According to Agriculture Minister Cheluvarayaswamy, this year’s Krishi Mela will be packed with new features, including the introduction of five new crop varieties, sunflower, fodder maize, turmeric, millet, and a special hardy seed variety suited for Karnataka’s semi-arid regions. Farmers will get on-the-spot demonstrations and expert guidance on cultivation techniques for each of these crops.
One of the major attractions will be the display of high-value livestock, including indigenous breeds known for superior milk and productivity traits. The event will also showcase innovative agricultural machinery designed to reduce manual labour and improve efficiency on farms.

Spread across the sprawling GKVK campus, the Mela will feature live demonstrations, expert consultations, seed sales, farm equipment exhibitions, and interactive sessions on modern agricultural trends. It aims to create a direct bridge between research institutions, agri-industries, and farmers.
Visitors can also explore stalls on organic farming, water management, and precision agriculture, while young agri-startups will present technologies that promise to transform the future of Indian farming.
