The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru and surrounding districts, cautioning residents to brace for moderate rainfall over the next three days. Widespread showers are predicted to continue through the weekend, after which the intensity may ease, although intermittent rain is expected to persist into next week.

At least 45 trees were uprooted

The Bengaluru heavy rain left its mark on city infrastructure. The Greater Bengaluru Authority reported that nearly all zones received moderate to heavy rainfall. At least 45 trees were uprooted and close to 100 branches were brought down by gusty winds, leading to roadblocks and disruptions in power supply. The northern parts of the city bore the brunt of the damage, with multiple reports of traffic snarls.

Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution and avoid waterlogged stretches as civic teams continue clearing debris and restoring normalcy.
