North Bengaluru commuters have a reason to cheer as the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has opened the newly constructed second loop at the Hebbal Flyover to the public from January 1, 2026. The project, which became operational at 11 am, is aimed at easing long-standing traffic congestion at one of the city’s busiest junctions.

The new loop is expected to significantly improve traffic flow at the Hebbal Flyover, a critical gateway connecting the airport road with key parts of the city. With the loop now functional, motorists can enjoy a smoother, signal-free drive towards Mekhri Circle, reducing waiting time and frequent bottlenecks that commuters earlier faced.

The project is part of the state government’s larger push to improve urban mobility and reduce congestion in fast-growing parts of Bengaluru. With North Bengaluru witnessing rapid residential and commercial expansion, the new loop is seen as a timely infrastructure upgrade to support increasing traffic demand.
Authorities believe the opening of the loop will not only save travel time but also improve overall commuting experience for thousands of motorists who use the Hebbal corridor every day.
