Joy turns to tragedy: Three-year-old boy dies during maternity photoshoot in Bengaluru

A couple celebrating their second pregnancy lost their first child after the toddler accidentally fell into a small water pool at a photoshoot location in Giddenahalli, under Madanayakanahalli police limits.

A happy moment for a couple expecting their second child turned into a heartbreaking tragedy after their three-year-old son drowned during a maternity photoshoot in Bengaluru.

The incident occurred at Giddenahalli village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Madanayakanahalli police station. The couple, who were celebrating the woman’s eighth month of pregnancy, had arranged a special photoshoot to capture the occasion.

According to police sources, while the photoshoot was in progress, the couple momentarily lost attention of their first child. During this time, the toddler was playing near the shoot location, which had a small water pool.

Unnoticed by the family and the photography team, the child accidentally slipped into the water. By the time the incident was noticed, the boy had already drowned. Immediate efforts were made to rescue him, but he could not be saved.

The deceased child, identified as Lakshmir, was just three years old. His sudden death has left the family in deep shock, especially as the couple was eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second baby.

Following the incident, Madanayakanahalli police rushed to the spot and conducted a preliminary investigation. The child’s body was later shifted to Nelamangala Government Hospital for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Police officials said further inquiry is underway to understand the sequence of events and assess safety arrangements at the photoshoot location. A case has been registered, and necessary legal procedures are being followed.
