Karnataka government forms special team to investigate 29 bomb threat emails in Bengaluru

In response to a growing number of bomb threat emails sent to key institutions across Bengaluru, the Karnataka government has announced the formation of a special investigation team to handle these alarming incidents. The team, headed by Bengaluru North Division Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) B.S. Nemagowda, will focus on the investigation of bomb threat cases registered in the city's western zone.

According to DCP Nemagowda, 29 separate cases related to bomb threats have been reported in the region, spanning 14 different police stations. These cases, which involve a range of government and private institutions, have now been consolidated and transferred to the Cyber Crime Police Station of the North Division for further investigation. The newly formed special team will take a coordinated approach to track down the perpetrators behind the threats.

The team will consist of key officers from the North Division Cyber Crime Police Station, including the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and the Inspector, as well as personnel from the local police stations where the threats were originally reported.

The bomb threats have targeted a variety of establishments, including prominent schools, colleges, government offices, and even the residences of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. The authorities are treating these incidents with the utmost seriousness and are working to ensure the safety and security of all affected individuals and institutions.
