KIA extends free cab pickup time to 15 mins; after that ₹100 for 30 mins & ₹50 per extra hour, aiming to ease passenger pickups and reduce congestion
Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has revised its pickup policy for taxis and cabs, offering passengers and drivers more flexibility. The airport has extended the free pickup window from 10 minutes to 15 minutes, aiming to ease congestion and improve the overall experience at its busy arrival bays.
Under the new rules, cab drivers can wait for up to 15 minutes without incurring any charges. If the waiting time exceeds this limit, a fee structure will apply. Drivers will be required to pay ₹100 for a half‑hour slot, with an additional charge of ₹50 for every extra hour.

Airport authorities believe the change will help streamline passenger pickups, reduce traffic bottlenecks, and minimize delays. The extended free period is expected to benefit travelers who often face challenges in coordinating with drivers, especially during peak hours or when flights are delayed.
By balancing passenger convenience with traffic management, the airport hopes to create a smoother flow of vehicles at its arrival points. The move reflects ongoing efforts to enhance service standards and ensure that Bengaluru’s international gateway remains efficient and passenger‑friendly.
