Held in connection with Republic Day and dedicated to writer Poornachandra Tejaswi, the 11-day flower show draws record footfall and revenue as it comes to a close today.
The Republic Day flower show, organised as part of national celebrations, will conclude today, marking the final day of the much-visited exhibition. With today being the last opportunity to witness the floral displays, a massive turnout of visitors is expected, with officials anticipating around 1.50 lakh people by evening.
The flower show was conducted over 11 days and this year’s edition was held in memory of renowned Kannada writer Poornachandra Tejaswi, giving the event a special cultural significance in addition to its visual appeal.

The exhibition has received an overwhelming response from the public. More than six lakh people visited the flower show over the last 10 days, reflecting its popularity among residents and tourists alike. Sunday saw the highest footfall, as it was a holiday, attracting large crowds throughout the day.
On Sunday alone, 1,14,626 visitors attended the flower show. The heavy turnout also translated into strong revenue generation. A total of ₹46.41 lakh was collected in a single day, making it one of the highest-earning days of the event.
Officials said that today’s final day is expected to be equally busy, if not more. With the exhibition closing tonight, families, tourists, and flower enthusiasts are expected to arrive in large numbers to catch a last glimpse of the themed floral arrangements and creative displays.
