Quick response by Railway Protection Force staff helps trace and safely return a red trolley bag containing gold jewellery and cash within hours of the complaint.
In yet another commendable act of honesty and efficiency, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel at Yelahanka railway station successfully traced and returned a lost trolley bag containing gold jewellery and cash worth ₹19 lakh to a passenger.
The incident occurred on February 8, 2026, at around 8.35 pm, when a passenger accidentally left behind his red-coloured trolley bag at Yelahanka railway station. Realising the loss, the passenger immediately lodged a complaint through the Rail Madad portal, seeking urgent assistance.
Acting promptly on the complaint, RPF personnel launched a thorough search operation at the station. During the inspection, they found an unclaimed red trolley bag on Platform No. 1. The bag was immediately secured and brought to the RPF post at Yelahanka station for verification and safety.

Subsequently, the RPF team contacted the complainant after cross-checking the Rail Madad complaint details along with the Aadhaar card information provided. Upon inspection, the bag was found to contain around 100 grams of gold jewellery valued at approximately ₹17 lakh and ₹2 lakh in cash.
After completing all necessary legal formalities and verification procedures, the RPF staff safely handed over the trolley bag to the rightful owner. The passenger expressed heartfelt gratitude for the quick response and honesty displayed by the RPF personnel.
