According to sources, Mahendra claimed that Kruthika’s parents had “cheated” him into marriage by hiding her health condition. He reportedly said he married her in good faith but was disappointed when she frequently fell ill. “She would vomit after eating or drinking anything, and during social gatherings she embarrassed me. Friends would joke that I had married a sick woman,” Mahendra allegedly told investigators.

Over time, resentment grew. In his confession, Mahendra stated that he fell in love with another woman and wanted to be with her. “If Kruthika dies, I can live the life I dreamed of with the one I love,” he reportedly said, explaining that he carefully planned the murder.
