A young woman has approached HAL Police Station alleging that a Marathahalli resident cheated her with a false marriage promise, took money, assaulted her, and showed no fear of police action. The accused has past criminal records.

A case of cheating and abuse under the guise of marriage has come to light in Bengaluru, triggering police action. A young woman has filed a formal complaint at the HAL Police Station, accusing a man of deceiving her by promising marriage, taking money from her, and later assaulting her.

According to the complaint, the accused has been identified as Dileep, a resident of Ashwath Nagar in Marathahalli. The woman alleged that Dileep gained her trust by assuring her of marriage. Over time, he collected money from her. However, instead of fulfilling his promise, he allegedly turned violent and assaulted her.

Police sources said the accused showed a casual attitude towards the police and behaved as if he had no fear of legal consequences. The victim, distressed by the betrayal and assault, approached the police seeking justice.

Investigations revealed that Dileep is not a first-time offender. He was earlier involved in a theft case and has a criminal background. Based on this, police suspect that he may have cheated other women using similar methods. The HAL police are now verifying whether more victims have been targeted in the same manner.

Given the seriousness of the allegations and the accused’s past record, the police are actively considering his arrest. A detailed investigation is underway to establish the full extent of the fraud and identify any additional cases linked to the accused.

The complaint has been officially registered at the HAL Police Station, and further legal action will follow based on the findings of the probe.
