Preliminary findings indicate that the traffickers were preparing to supply large quantities of ganja to Karnataka in the run-up to New Year celebrations, expecting high demand during the festive period. Among those detained are individuals identified as Anish Oor Rehmaan Bin Abdali Ali and another associate from Dabalashwar, who were reportedly involved in distributing the narcotics across the city.
Officials noted that the illegal network had been operating openly in several localities, with traffickers disregarding regulations and engaging in rampant street-level sales. The latest operation is part of the department’s intensified efforts to curb the surge in drug circulation and dismantle organized supply routes.
The seized consignment marks one of the biggest recoveries in recent weeks and highlights the growing challenge of drug trafficking in Bengaluru. The detained individuals are now facing charges under relevant sections of the NDPS Act for illegal possession and transportation of narcotic substances.
