Widowed woman alleges illegal entry, assault, and threats after court-ordered status quo; Magadi Road police accused of reluctance in registering complaint.

A disturbing case of alleged lawlessness has emerged from Gopalapura near Magadi Road in Bengaluru, where a group of unidentified individuals, reportedly operating under the name of a women’s organisation, are accused of forcibly evicting a woman from her own house.

According to the complaint, the victim is a widow who lost her husband a few years ago and has been living in her late husband’s family house. A property-related dispute within the family had been ongoing for some time, prompting the woman to approach the court. The court had issued clear orders to maintain status quo over the property.

Despite this, the woman alleges that several people suddenly entered the house late at night, behaving like hired goons. She claims the intruders broke open the door using a hammer, barged into the house, assaulted her, and attempted to throw her out illegally. The woman further alleged that she was threatened with death if she refused to leave the premises.

The complaint also states that some women have been staying in the house illegally since the previous day, adding to her fear and insecurity. The attackers allegedly held an informal “darbar” inside the house, claiming the backing of a women’s organisation while intimidating the rightful occupant.

Following the incident, the victim approached the Magadi Road Police Station to file a complaint. However, she has accused the police of hesitating to register her complaint, raising serious concerns about the response of law enforcement in such sensitive cases.
