Amid large crowds welcoming 2026 across Bengaluru’s nightlife hubs, a brief disturbance broke out at a Church Street pub after intoxicated youths misbehaved with staff.

A New Year celebration in Bengaluru witnessed a brief moment of tension after a scuffle broke out at a pub in the heart of the city during the early hours of January 1. The incident was reported at Flo Pub on Church Street, a popular nightlife destination that saw heavy footfall on New Year.

According to information available, a group of unruly youths, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, created a disturbance by misbehaving with women staff members at the pub. The inappropriate conduct immediately caught the attention of the pub’s staff, who acted swiftly to prevent the situation from escalating.

Other employees of the pub intervened and questioned the youths, following which the situation was brought under control. Though the issue was resolved quickly, the sudden altercation triggered panic and concern among patrons for a short period, disrupting the festive mood inside the venue.

The incident occurred even as thousands of people had gathered across central Bengaluru to welcome the New Year. Areas such as MG Road, Church Street, Brigade Road and Indiranagar were packed with revellers eager to usher in 2026.

As the clock struck midnight, crowds burst crackers, danced to DJ music and celebrated the arrival of the New Year on the streets and inside entertainment venues. Despite the isolated incident at the pub, celebrations across the city largely continued without major disruptions.
