Large clusters of unauthorised banners linked to the KEB Engineers’ Association elections were cleared across central Bengaluru following a ground inspection by the GBA Central City Commissioner.
Central Bengaluru witnessed a swift enforcement action on Saturday after thousands of unauthorised banners tied to the KEB Engineers’ Association elections were pulled down across major junctions. The clean-up drive came soon after NewsFirst highlighted the widespread violation of High Court guidelines and erstwhile Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) rules.

Large stretches such as Anand Rao Circle, Gandhinagar Circle, Racecourse Road, Energy Bhavan Road, and the Mysore Bank Circle had been heavily cluttered with flex banners and hoardings promoting candidates contesting in the association polls. The displays had been installed without mandatory approvals, drawing public criticism for causing visual clutter and openly disregarding civic norms.
Following the report, GBA Central City Commissioner Rajendra Cholan personally visited multiple locations to assess the extent of the violations. His ground inspection prompted an immediate directive to remove all unauthorised hoardings and restore compliance within the core city limits.

Officials later confirmed that the banners, put up ahead of the engineers’ body elections, had been mounted on pavements, medians, and public property in complete breach of advertisement and public display rules.
With the Commissioner’s intervention, enforcement teams began clearing the illegal banners through the day, restoring visibility and order along key central Bengaluru roads.
