Good monsoon rainfall boosts reservoir levels across the state, ensuring stable water supply through summer

Karnataka is set to avoid a major summer water crisis this year, thanks to excellent water storage levels in the state’s key reservoirs, following good pre-monsoon and monsoon rainfall during 2025.

Officials confirmed that rivers and major dams across Karnataka currently hold sufficient water, ensuring steady supply for drinking, irrigation, and urban needs, especially in Bengaluru, which faced severe water shortages last summer.

Bengaluru Gets Big Relief

With KRS reservoir holding 38 TMC of water, Bengaluru is expected to remain free from water-related stress throughout the summer season. The strong storage levels have eased concerns over drinking water availability in the city.

The improved situation is mainly attributed to timely and healthy rainfall during both the pre-monsoon and monsoon periods last year, which significantly boosted reservoir inflows.
